✨ Design Inspiration: A Silent, Natural Poem
The stems from the purest, most dynamic natural scene: a bird resting, or 'perching,' on a branch.
We sought to capture that instantaneous moment of stillness and balance: the bird's light figure maintaining an elegant equilibrium on the branch, and its pure white wings shimmering under the sun. The designer's initial intention was to create a "living light," making the user feel as if they were standing in a hopeful and serene morning.
This reverence for and imitation of nature imbues the Perch Light with a unique soul.
✍️Conceptual Sketching
The initial sketches were not realistic depictions of birds, but explorations of abstract forms and precise balance. The key was to find a simple geometric shape that simultaneously evoked the bird’s elegant silhouette and perfectly achieved its unrestrained balance and free-swinging dynamic effect on the metal rod. The sketching phase focused heavily on structural proportion and center of gravity calculations, ensuring the "bird" would sway with the most natural posture when lightly touched, rather than simply wobble.

The Bird Diffuser: The central challenge in modeling was the "bird's" form. Composed of polygonal planes, every fold angle needed to be precisely accurate to ensure the internal LED light source was diffused uniformly and softly, while maintaining a lightweight appearance.
The Balancing Perch: The connection point between the rod and the bird is the essence of the entire design. The metal "perch" end is a precise cylinder, and the bird's internal mechanism can achieve balance and illumination solely through gravity and contact conduction. There are no complex wires involved, emphasizing the minimalist aesthetic.
